Meet Your Maker
Hi, I’m Mervin, a graphic designer who’s proud to call Spokane home. I was born in the Philippines and moved to California, then Spokane over 35 years ago, and it didn’t take long for this place to become part of my creative DNA.
For more than 25 years, I’ve been exploring how design can tell stories that connect people. My work draws inspiration from Spokane’s unique mix of natural beauty, history, and community spirit — from the colors of our ever-changing skies to the grit and creativity you find in everyday life here. Whether I’m designing for local businesses or personal projects, my goal is always the same: to capture a sense of place and emotion, and to make something that feels authentic and alive.
Soriano Design is built on a simple idea: create designs that feel true to Spokane and the Pacific Northwest. I believe design should do more than look good — it should tell a story, spark pride, and connect people to something meaningful. That’s why every piece is created with care, attention to detail, and a deep appreciation for the everyday moments and landmarks that make this region special.
Outside of design, you’ll probably find me exploring Spokane’s trails, covered in sawdust while woodworking, or enjoying a cup of coffee in the Garland District. All of those things feed back into my work in one way or another, reminding me that creativity is everywhere if you take the time to look.
